Dr. Rippel Has Received Top National Recognition

  • The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) named Dr. Rippel Connecticut’s first Hypertension Control Champion, for achieving control rates of 80% or better.
  • Dr. Rippel is the first solo provider in Connecticut to achieve the highest level Patient-Centered Medical Home recognition from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), the top healthcare accreditation organization. He was first given this recognition in 2011 and has been awarded it multiple times since.
  • NCQA has recognized Dr. Rippel in their Diabetes Recognition Program (DRP), which honors clinicians who use evidence-based measures to provide quality care to their diabetes patients. This places him in an elite group of physicians publicly recognized for providing the highest level of Diabetes care. He was first given this recognition in 2009 and has been awarded it multiple times since.
  • NCQA has recognized Dr. Rippel in their Heart/Stroke Recognition Program (HSRP), which acknowledges clinicians who use evidence-based measures to provide quality care to their Cardiovascular disease (CVD) and stroke patients. This makes him part of an elite group of physicians publicly recognized for providing the highest level of care for heart disease and stroke. He was first given this recognition in 2010 and has been awarded it multiple times since.
  • Business New Haven magazine named Dr. Rippel Physician of the Year 2011, for his pioneering effort as an early adopter of health information technology, and for being Connecticut’s first solo provider recognized as a Patient-Centered Medical Home by NCQA.
  • Dr. Rippel was a co-recipient of the Annual Leadership Award from the Connecticut Center of Primary Care in 2012.
